Ein Interview zwischen Games Radar und Matt Grandstaff (Bethesda's community manager). Meine Meinung anhand einiger Auszüge.
Q: Do developers really listen to gamers?
A: The folks at our office definitely listen to what the fans have to say
Tja nur hinhören allein reicht leider nicht aus !
Q: Have ideas generated within the community - on your own forums, for example - ever made it into your games?
A: Definitely. With Fallout 3, we ran a community contest allowing one fan's 'perk' to be included in the game. [...]
Schön wenn man sich aus über 17000 Ideen die heraussuchen kann, die am besten ins Egoshooter Konzept passt.
Dann darf man auch stolz behaupten die Fallout Community mit einbezogen zu haben
aber jetzt kommts...
Q: Does community feedback genuinely help to make better games?[...]
A: I believe it does. [...] I think our team learned quite a bit from feedback we've received from Oblivion, and folks will see how we've responded in Fallout 3 and in future games. The feedback we get [...] to understand what worked and what didn’t work so that we can do better next time.
Ohho! Oblivion Feedback hat also bei der Entwicklung von FO3 geholfen... hört hört!
to understand what worked and what didn’t work so that we can do better next time.
Das glaub ich ihm sogar! Wobei sich das "we can do better next time" wohl eher auf Gewinnmaximierung bezieht... -.-
